About The Photographer

As a member of the Professional Photographers of America
and The Associated Professional Photographers of Illinois,
Arnie Shafer is an experienced, locally well known photographer. Attending Bradley University and Columbia College for art and photography during those turbulent 1960's, he spent many years working in various businesses. The one solid thread through it all was his love of photography. At the same time, while he was working part time for various photo studios and for himself as a freelance photographer, Arnie continued to develop and fine tune his photographic skills. After living in Miami, Florida, and working full time for portrait studios and modeling agencies in the Miami - Ft. Lauderdale area, Arnie returned home to Chicago and started freelancing again.

In early 2002, Shafer Studios opened it's doors in Highwood, Illinois, doing portraits, portfolios, publicity and events, real estate and commercial photography, and high school seniors photography, both in it's fully equipped studio or on location. Working in and around the NorthShore area of Chicago, well versed in all facets of photography, and formats from digital to 35 mm, Arnie is ready, willing and able to meet all of your photographic needs.
